Re: ignore trial

It might be your security settings, sometimes you can get that when you are blocked from showing content from another site ( bear in mind the pictures are stored on a site like photobucket and the IMG code is the address of that site ) if you want to PM me one of your IMG codes I will try posting it for you and then see if it is your browser, or your photo site settings.

Re: ignore trial

Right, I've had a couple of requests of how to do pictures, and I know there are other tutorials on the forum, but I thought I'd have a go anyway.

Placing pictures, BaggieRich style!

* First upload your picture into your album, be it on the forum or on photobucket or whatever.

* Once this is done, you'll need what's called the picture url. It's the unique address of the picture on the internet. This normally takes the form http://www.fishing-forum.info/pictur...pictureid=2253

On the forum album site, when you're looking at you photo, you can find it here.

Highlight all of the url (make sure you get all of it, 9 times out of 10 it goes past the egde of the box), right click and choose copy.

* In the post where you want the picture to appear, click the image button. You can find it here.

This *should* bring up a new little window, if it doesn't, don't worry, just try the next step. The new window should look like this.

If you did get a new window, right click the http: bit and choose paste. This should paste in the picture url you got previously. Make sure there is only one lot of http: at the begining of the url. Now click "submit reply" and bask in the glory of your new picture post!

* If you didn't get the little window when you clicked the image button, it might be that you've got a popup blocker on which prevents the window from opening. Don't worry, we can get around this.

In the text of your new post, type the following characters exactly.

Please note, those are square brackets, the ones above the @ and ~ keys on your keyboard.

Then you need to paste in the url for your picture. Right click and choose paste.

Following this, you'll need to close the image tag by typing the following characters. Again, do this exactly, with square brackets.

[/IMG]

Make sure all of this is on one line and there are no spaces between the img tags and your url.

Once you've done this it should like like this.

[IMG]http://www.fishing-forum.info/picture.php?albumid=11&pictureid=2253[/lMG]

Click submit and again bask in the glow of your new picture post. Hurrah!

[quote=BaggieRich;187131]Right, I've had a couple of requests of how to do pictures, and I know there are other tutorials on the forum, but I thought I'd have a go anyway.

Placing pictures, BaggieRich style!

when you're looking at you photo, you can find it here.

underneath the box that baggie circled is another box that starts

[img]............................

on photobucket,

when clicked it will highlight in blue and a yellow box appears to the left stateing 'copyed'
then switch to your post , left click to confirm where you want the image with a flashing cursor,
right click to paste.

if no yellow 'copyed' box appears on the photobucket screen-
left click to highlight img code, right click-& select 'copy'.
move to your post and paste as described earlier.

if you are still haveing problems , in your album/photobucket etc
right click the full sized image - select 'properties'

check that image is within size limmits for the forum
also check that it is an acceptable format ie- gif, jpeg etc

my 1st digi cam would only take pics in some strange format that no forums would accept , but after alot of head scratching i worked out how to change it with a photo edit program ( this can be done within photobucket as can resizeing)

sorry baggie, i don't want to steal your thunder but copy/paste img code on the bucket is so simple on lots of sites.

however some will only let you add pictures via pasteing url to the add image
box or just the url as a link.

btw how do you get the screen shots?

Not at all mate. You're right that a damned sight easier than typing the images tags in. I hadn't spotted that!

It's a windows function. If at any time you want a screenshot, hold down the windows key (That's the one between "Ctrl" and "Alt" at the bottom left of your keyboard) and press Print Screen (That's the one above Insert and next to F12). This copies the current screen into memory, then open paint (Other image editing packages are available) and "paste" the screen in.

To get right flash with it, hold down the "Alt" key as well before you hit "print screen" and it'll only copy the currently selected window.

Why is it that I can remember countless and normally pointless shortcuts, but ask me where I was last week and I'll struggle to tell ya.
