| Re: abu 7000 big game gold Cracking Reel the 7000,having said that the gold "big game " series aren`t a patch on the older ones .I have 4 7000 HSN big games ,complete with made in Sweden stickers (which should read made in Sweden ,from parts made in taiwan!!! .If you can hang on i`d be scanning E Bay from a mint old series 7000,they sell for strong money ,but are a million times better than the gold "big game " series . __________________ Mike.. | Re: abu 7000 big game gold There far from the quality reels they used to be ......lot of plastic gears and lower quality bits in side ,thin side plates that corrode in a short time .Sad really as pure fishing ,rely on ABU`s reputation of years gone by __________________ Mike.. | Re: abu 7000 big game gold Squidge, Just sold one in gold. It was rubbish. I wouldn't have wanted to tackle a tope on it. It struggled with Pollock. The lever drag was unpredictable, as mentioned earlier the quality just didn't feel the same as the old 7000 (of which I've got a couple) If I were to recommend a 7000 size reel for Tope I don't think you can go far wrong with a Diawa SL30SH, you can get them for about £70 too.
