| Re: West Bay bait shop Hi Nigel, There are 2 in West Bay both of which I wouldn't go near for all the money in the world. The large one on the right as you go in is the West Bay Water Sports and Potters Tackle Box & on the left. | Re: West Bay bait shop Hi, I live within 10 minutes of these shops and both are a rip off. I make all my purchases on line, even down to a packet of beads. I stock up on frozen squid etc. as and when a friend on another forum I belong puts in a bulk order. If I require fresh Mackerel I pop down to West Bay or Burton Bradstock and fish for it. When I am really stuck for something I drive through to the Weymouth Angling Centre and pick it up, but I incorporate that with the weekly shop or make a day out of it. There is a market in Bridport on a Wednesday and Saturday, even the tackle stall there is a rip off. Most important of all, never go out from West Bay on a fishing charter, you will regret it, it pays to go to Weymouth. If you do decide to purchase bait from either of the shops, if its worms, open the newspaper and check them first before you leave the shop. I will guarantee that you will end up with bits and pieces, Regards Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold Secretary of The Blandford Sea Angling Club |
