spinning and lures

I am trying to sort myself out a spinning setup with gear i have already got in the garage, I have a Daiwa Sensor 8' carbon two piece with a Daiwa Jupitor-S 5000 reel would this setup work well for both spinning and artificial lures like the Maria chase SW. Not done spinning since I was a kid.

Re: spinning and lures

Personally, I use a 11ft Masterline Powerhead Plugger. with an Awa-Shima Pulse fixed spool reel.
This reel is filled with Berkley Fireline 15lb Braid, for a better feel to the lure!
I like a longer rod, for casting modern lures further!
Yozuri : Crystal Minnows being my favoured lure at the moment!

Re: spinning and lures

It will do the job but if you are casting lures all day you soon find your wrists hurting.Give it a go and if you like it go out and get your self some good lightweight plugging gear you WILL notice the difference strate away.
Good luck
