| Great Yarmouth How about passing out some sea fishing information to a grandad and 5 year old granson hoping to to do some sea fishing in the area of Great Yarmouth from the 20th of this month . I would like to say 1 adult and 1 child ,but the non adventurus of the family says why dont i grow up , your just like a kid when your fishing together. To me its just like Christmas when you catch a fish its like getting a present , and when you dont catch it very dissapointing And if all the Grandparents taking grandchildren fishing dont have the same excitement sorry if i have offended you. Anyway Tight Lines to all and any information would be appreciated so the smaller child of us two is not disapointed ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Re: Great Yarmouth Hi Winklepicker, Welcome to the Forum. Unfortunately I don't know the area, but I'm sure you will get all the answers you reqire from the local tackle shop and from the other anglers on the beach. The great thing about this fishing lark is that nearly everyone is friendly enough to help each other, go for it and enjoy yourselves. | Re: Great Yarmouth Hi, Good call taking your grandson out, thats how I started sea fishing at the age of 4-5 with my granddad. We used to fish Gt.Yarmouth all the time, haven't fished it in a few years due to living more suffolk way. They have recently opened up the harbour for Ferries and larger ships so what that has changed to the sea bed I'm also not sure of. We always went behind the pleasure beach, as we found a gully which holds a lot of fish just over the breakers 45yds. Good catches of dabs and yting can be expected and codling/cod are about till April. Weed can be a pain at times tho. Use a 3-4 small hook flapper rig to catch the dabs/yting and larger hooks for the codling! Goodluck and hope this helps |

| Re: Great Yarmouth Welcome to the forum mate. dont know if this is any good but we used to fish off gorlestone harbour and the britania pier. If you dont mind traveling a few miles. Cro,mer pier used to be quite good as well. Beach wise you could try Hopton. |

| Re: Great Yarmouth To be honest everything is a bit bleak at the moment around here, Yarmouth is a better option but apparently the cod are off shore due to the spawning however there have been reports of a few bigger cod slowly (very) slowly being caught. P |
