| new world record / halibutt well Norway has deliverd again. 202 kg halibutt on rod and line. I have read the article in a magazine. | Re: new world record / halibutt Hei breiflab ! I got into what must have been a big halibut last year, fishing in Hogsfjord - near sandnes. I was drifting using mackerel flapper, when I hit the fish which I thought was a russian submarine ! it towed my boat which is 6.5 tons for about 15 mins. We were getting dangerously close to some rocks and the wind was picking up so I had no option other than to let my friend try and hold the fish while I put the boat in reverse - end of story SNAP !
