Re: flattie fishing

Best rig for flatties is a 2 hook flapper with size 2/4 depending on your bait. One good bait for them is maddies. Should be getting some now as alot of the flounder comps are starting very soon. Hope this helps

Cheers

Simon

Are some flounders on the beaches now in West Sussex area now .... East Preston to Brighton should see some fish .... blacks tipped red rag or limpets is probably the best bait for them

The best spots for flounders at East Preston seem to be at the bottom of Sea Lane and eastwards towards the pipe. Limpets works well down there.

Re: flattie fishing

had an attempt for flatties a few weeks ago
used Ragworm as bait and a size 2 or 4 hook cant mind
also a used a few coloured beads above my hook some
people say it helps for fishing for flatties

Re: flattie fishing

They do like something shiny, it stirs them into action, that's why calm clear sea is best for flatties. A small spoon above the bait works well. Very often reeling slowly in attracts a flattie as the weight stirs up the sea bed.
