Re: The perfect blank Hi Peter, looks like it was well worth the long walk - hope you didnt get stung, scratched and bitten too much. Lovely idyllic stretch of river by the look of it - great photo's too, and shame you didnt get one on the fly.

Hi Baz, not too far from your old neck of the woods, the river flowing in is the Allander, near Torrance. Amazing sight, seeing them leap out of the water, even after dark all you could hear were the splashes. Coming back in the dark, was an experience, but good fun. Enjoyed your last report, some nice fish caught. Peter ![]()

Re: The perfect blank Hi GH, thanks for your comment, I meant to say that the River Allander, to the left in the salmon shot, leads to a salmon ladder at Gavin`s Mill in Milngavie ( pronounced Millguy--hmm --don`t ask ) I have some pics of it somewhere, but unfortunately none with salmon in them. Loved to have caught one, but maybe not, as they were mostly coloured fish, waiting for higher water, to reach the spawning grounds, so I`d have returned them anyway.Peter ![]()

Re: The perfect blank Torrance, Milngavie - some of my old haunts - ! Mainly went to Torrance to meet up with my mate and then go up to the canal, by the Bishopbriggs roundabout to fish there - though didnt catch much - usually better out by Banknock area on the canal. Never did get round to fishing the Allander though.
