river teith callander report, well mended kelt

well 4th trip to the teith this year me n ma dad headed from whitburn at 6am yesterday headed to callander fishin for about 40 mins fishin the black flyin'c, and ma dad hooks and lands a 8 or 9lb kelt, first when it wis splashing about in the water we saw the silver and first thing we thought was SPRINGER!!, so i tailed it on the shingle and noticed it was skinny with the head of a newfoundland lol this is our first fish of the season and a welcomed one at that, looks like good spawning happend on the teith this year, this fish was a bar of sliver and in excelent condition, we had to look twice to really notice, in all the excitment i can imagine how people sometimes cant tell springers from well mended bars of silver, we only fished 3 hours and we were happy, the fish was only lifted out the water for the one picture with ma dad, and unhooked in the water and strongly swam away,

there is the river venachar that goes into the river teith and is usauly teaming with fish at the backend of the season, there is a fish pass and the quarter mile below it is smashing water.
