Smile third time lucky

well despite it blowing a hooley today looked like not too much rain so headed off to the lime kiln area of canal again
3rd trip of year and determined not to blank again

got there about 9.30 and set up in fave swim on bend
well to say was a bit blowey was an understatement there were white caps on the waves being created by the wind , well i stuck it out here for an hour and a bit without a snif so went back towards carpark feeling not too great about chances but hey was sheltered here so set up again

sat chatting sociably to other angler(who was hoping for carp) untill suddenly beeep beeeep beeep (bait in water less than 10 minutes) went right hand rod (popped up 1/2 herring) and after a nice fight in came this nice 8lber

photo quickly taken on mat as it had damaged its mouth quite badly on the trace(klink applied ) but swam back well

then missed/lost a better fish on left hand rod on a popped up bream(first take ever on a freshwater bait)

then after the other angler came back from roving off went left handrod again now loaded with 1/2 a mackeral( sea baits still working the best here it seems))
and in came this beauty who fought as well out of the water as in it

weighed in at exactly 10lb

and that was it my time was up(and weather deteriating as well) but I am definately a very happy pingu , with 2 fish in a session and my 2nd double
thanks to the other angler who helped with photo

dave
