Tips on your Northern Pike fishing

As you all know, our northern pike is a great fighter, they are very stubborn at

times. But when they are ready to eat watch yourself.

Northern Pike are sight feeders so colorful lures often work for your best..

A wire leader is a MUST. Although most spinners, jerkbaits, jointed plugs, and

spoons will work. The most effective lure year after year is the yellow/red five

of diamonds spoon #2 its really incredible how this works.

As far as your rod and reel is concerned, there is a trade off.

With a lighter outfit the challenge and/or fun is increased but so is fish kill,

so a medium weight rig is suggested..barbless and/or single hook lures a must.

You will lose some fish but what the heck the action will be more than enough

so don't be greedy.When casting bring it in jerkingly and slow.. and remember

BIG LURE, BIG FISH.. GOOD LUCK
