| lime kilns exeter well as weather sort of ok today took a chance and headed off to lime kilns area of exeter canal, as wether looked so iffey decided not too walk too far from car so walked all off 200yrds to end of bank wall set up at 10am just as rain started (thank you), very gusty wind blowing as well (and not just because of a dodgy curry last night ) so settled on ledgering, there is still alot of weed on the canal so popped up the baits and used ledger stems as well(yes i have been reading others posts lol )sending a lamprey bait towards other bank and sprat to right on near bank swim looking towards motorway ![]() looking back towards exeter ![]() wether was very on an off but at just about 11 far rod gave several tentative bleeps then more deliberate signs , i lifted the rod and was chuffed as FISH ON a short fight later this beautifully marked pike of 6lb exact was on my mat ![]() to say i was chuffed was an understatement as this is my first ever pike on bait and also my first of the (proper)season recast and about 1/2 hour later had another big take on far bank but this time it got away(felt much heavier as well )well that was it nearside rod never had a touch packed up at 2.30 as was that steady going to get you very wet rain but well happy as have tried quite a few times here and got a result at last i will be back very soon dave __________________ 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day , Game on www.exmouthsaa.co.uk I have the body of a God, Pity its Buddha :-0 |

| Re: lime kilns exeter Well done mate... A week off firsts then... Hurrah. How dirty is the car now? There's nothing like coating new brake pads in muddy water to boost their performance!!! ![]() __________________ Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land.
