Going Piking!!

As I cant get out till Saturday - i've decided to have a change this weekend,

I don't like Saturday night at this time of year on the drains, particularly as i've yet to discover those quiet places of my own. Saturday can be quite busy till it gets really cold.

So this week I'm going to head up to a group of lakes near Swaffam. Its a really quiet location with a number of lakes, with a mix of fish from Bream, carp, catfish and of course good old Esox.

I fished there 4 times last march and managed to catch each time with a best of 19lb - downside is it costs £20 for 24 hours (the wolf is at old Gills door!)

The bigger traces are made and as standby 8 mackeral are prepped in the freezer - these will hopefully back-up the fresh ones I will get nearer the time, if i cant then I will totally defrost these before using, as i believe the oil release is much better than casting in a frozen/semi-frozen one.

So hopefully a report with some pics.

(this is just a one-off, back to the drains for a renewed battle for a PB Zander after that)

Cheers

Barrie
