Pike Fishing in and around birmingham

Hi i just started pike fishing doing abit of lure fishing down my local canal. I was just wondering if anyone knows of any hot spots along the local canals, any good spots on local rivers or a lake even. I would really appreciate your help thanks. Matt

Talking Re: Pike Fishing in and around birmingham

Hi

I asked the same question some time ago and NO answer.

Iam also from brum (solihull) I mainly lure fish on the canal at lapworth nr hockley heath. pike, zander and the odd eel., and Losonford nr henley-in-arden, another place i have been fishing with the PAC is earlswood lakes but blanked every time - the last time i was down there the bloke 2 pegs down caught a 14.5 pike.
There is a reseviour in king norton but never fished it. apart from that there is the river severn, and combe abby in coventry.
but all depends on what part of brum u are from.
try this web site and look at the forums on pike loads of info. www.totalcoursefishing.com
hope this helps.

Re: Pike Fishing in and around birmingham

If i was you guys i would be looking up Mick Browns site and dropping him an e-mail. As you probably know he's from your area and in his book 'pike fishing -the practice and the passion' he mentions that as there was no piking in his local area he had to travel further afeild ,so you boys might have to do the same.

Failing that i know of some killer pike locations up here in Scotland ......only a bus ride away!! lol

Seriously though, i wish you both all the best 'cause i couldn't imagine living somewere with no pike........its making me depressed just thinking about it!!
