Question Cheddar Resevoir

Has anyone tried piking at Cheddar Reservoir and what advise can you give me on tackling this large featureless expanes of water.
I am hoping to bag my first twenty this winter and am trying to target waters in the SW that might put me in with a chance of plenty of piking action and hopefully a twenty too.
To date I have concentrated on rivers and drains in the Taunton - Glastonbury area and have found a few fish up to 14.5 lbs but would now like to try stillwaters for something bigger.
I look forward to receiving your thoughts and advice on venues and tactics and will of course report back on any catches.
