what a lovely day

just got back from a quite wonderful days piking,
i tried hard but i didn't get a bite,
it doesn't matter the slightest,i got to the lake at 04.30 ,it was bitter cold and thick fog, there is something magical about a fishing lake in the fog,
as the sun came up the lake slowly came to life,i had robins and wrens perching in the trees around me,a kingfisher frequently came shooting across the lake about one inch from the surface and a buzzard put in an appearance as well,

as the sun came up the fog slowly went and it got quite warm,it was one of those days that it was special just being there.

now its back to earth with a bump.the wife has the hump,my kids are arguing as usual.

its days like today that make fishing special.

Re: what a lovely day

Your right mate - one of the many things I love about fishing is the time out plus the wonderful sites you see from old mother nature

Shame about the pike but as the saying goes there is always next time

Re: what a lovely day

Thats one of the main reasons i fish....your right mate....its all about the time out and what you see away from lifes normalities. I like to fish alone quite alot too just for the peace and quiet.....its nice to catch "occasionally" though !!!
