Thumbs up Mikey-1001 PB Pike....what a beast!

Had to post a picture of it as you can see it's a whopper!! Well done Mikey!

Even if it was taken 11 years ago (imagine the weight now if it's still alive)

I'm sure he'll be along soon to tell us all about it!

What bait/lures were yo using to catch that trophy? Have you looked at the lures in hte US, would some of them work for the Pike there. I've got a couple of hair inline spinner baits

Super Fish!

When you get those, was it something you were planning for and expecting or did you cast your line and have that baby bite?

Talking Re: Mikey-1001 PB Pike....what a beast!

Well lads........were do i start ? Yes she was a beast and fought as hard on the bank as in the water ,ill tell you that for sure (thought i was gonna loose a couple of fingers !!) In regards to our yank freind (who likes to eat pike by the way !).........she was caught on a legered piece of lamprey popped up off the bottom using my patent pending bit of polystyrene 'cause i had ran out of pollyballs that session........just like the thing eh !!
In answer to another question ,i caught her on a week long bivvie out on loch lomond and on that trip i was specimen hunting so the rods were more powerful, the line was stronger b/s and the baits were carefully selected and positioned so ......no i didn't just pop a bit mackerel on and float fish it anywere!! LOL !! Although on my club water thats my usual tactic.........lmao !!
Thanks for posting it Dan.......i just stuck it in my gallerie alongside the usual stamp of jacks i take from Edgelaw res.........i suppose it looked a bit out of place did it ? LOL

Cheers for the compliments lads but they are all due to her.........'cause to me she's more beutifull than the wife........almost!!

Thing about pike though Dan is that they're a bit like a rock star..........live fast die young !! LOL Its the truth though they have an extremely accelerated lifespan so i reckon shes gone to the big pike swim in the sky mate eh !!..........unfortunately 'cause she'd weigh about 60 lb or something, maybe even more !! IMAGINE hooking that !!

Re: Mikey-1001 PB Pike....what a beast!

YANK!!! WHO'S A YANK...ME?
Well your yank friend hasn't eaten Pike since he was 14. In the states in alot of waters Pike are considerd a scourge. Seems funny Bass is the #1 fish here and Pike seem to hld the spot in the UK. Mostly I eat the fish from Red Lobster... or if I've gone deep sea

Anyway you slice it...no pun intended fishing is fishing, you fish for whats fun...that's just fishing in general
