Its quite simple in fact, Walleye is a slang name Pickerel (USA in origin) and has nothing to do with Pike in anyway.

Guys.......i knew all this myself if you follow the thread back to the start you will see that it was some yank trying to tell ME an avid piker that they are the same species, so can we kill this thread now please !!
