| Re: 1st day out piking in about 6 years! Ive always used the 5 turn grinner knot for braid (I have a little preparatory knot I tie first) and its not let me down once. Normally find the braid or trace will snap before the knot lets go. Find it a little bulky for mono though, big fan of the palomer knot then! __________________ Species for 2011: Pike, Perch, Chub, Roach, Silver Eel, Thorn Back Ray. |

| Re: 1st day out piking in about 6 years! At least you had 5/6 takes. If ur tempted to go again try end Feb start of March and spend at least 10 mins in each Pikey-looking swim working a good half mile of the bank. Pick the right weather conditions (low pressure) and travel light - dead bait on the bottom with float. You might just find the big females shoaling up. If that doesn't work try 'sink and draw'.
