Pike Fishing Possibilities

Hi Guys,

Me and my friend have never been Pike Fishing before (We've got most of the gear we'll need mind), we were thinking of trying Bassenthwaite Lake on the August bank holiday, I was just wondering if this was out of season or a bit too cold for Pike to bite?

should be ok, water temp shouldnt be a problem there though
check some of the handling tips on here and pike angling club

not sure on local regs on bassenthwaite only ever canoed it
