| popper lures how to use im knew to top water lures like heddons lucky 13 an poppers in genral can i crank them in like a crank bait , im a bit lost do i pull my popper in with a slack line , any help will be appreciated     |

| Re: popper lures how to use Twitch, pause, reel in slack. Repeat until lure has reached shore, boat, or pissed-off predator fish. That pretty much covers it. Poppers are a favorite of mine. | Re: popper lures how to use I reel mine in at varying speeds - giving the popper random small/sharp tugs (with the rod pointing down at the water) making it jerk a bit more than usual and throw up more water or make a popping sound. I usually get a fright as the takes are often at your feet - great fun |

Most of the poppers I've used should be fished quickly, though there are some that are best when they're fished slow.
