Just signed I cant believe British Waterways. How short sighted! Removing pike only results in lots of stunted fish. You need predators to preserve the natural balance.

Re: STOP the removal of pike from our canals petition

Just sighned up its just a shame this is happening but even if this works there is still going to be the odd matchmen/idiot who thinks all pike should be frown up the bank or into bushes for the rats people just need educating better on the role pike actually have in our water systems

Re: STOP the removal of pike from our canals petition

Signed and passed on to all my Pike fishing buddies.

When will people realise that natural predation makes for a better quality of match fish with less disease and inherent defects.

Predators were put on this planet for a reason! Survival of the fittest comes to mind!

How narrow minded are these people.

Re: STOP the removal of pike from our canals petition

i rem a fly fishery removing pike resulted in inferior trout being caught ,,,also Dave Harrel ( jerk matchman who should ov been banned) advocated the killing of pike at Edgebaston reser in bham ruind the fishery all the quality fish disapeard and there was nowt but small silvers ,,,pike are part of our eco stystem without them diseas spreads and they unlike zander only eat when hungry ,,,very misguided and stupid to kill them our local lake has sufferd as polish migrants have took pike out
