| gill rakers hi guys a week or so ago i posted that i wished to start pike fishing but after a huge amount of research the gill rakers have got me worried not because of the thought of hurting the fish or even possibly being hurt myself but... i work within the nhs where it is imperative that skin abbrasions to my hands and arms are kept to an absoloute minimum due to risk of transmittable disease ... i work as a mortuary technician and wear gloves to above the wrist but like most thing protective equipment is only a preventative (latex/vynl gloves split easily) and i really would like to keep wounds down as much as pos. i know also after my research that many frown on pikers wearing a glove but is there any type of glove that is best for the pike and keep my fairy soft hands (lol joke) in good nick for work? thanks gaz |

| Re: gill rakers You can probably get a decent Butchers chain mail glove for £10 - £15 I purchased one on flea bay about 2 years ago & it's still good after numerous unhookings ![]() |
