Well after last weeks angling times and my lack of fishing recently i have been really up for a session and had planned to go early today...

I woke up at 7 with a splitting sore head so back to bed it was and didnt rise again to 1! Atleast my head had eased. So it was time to go to the lake, armed with the new 'wonder attractant', Vodka!

I didn't really have much confidence cause this venue isn't really a winter venue which is strange cause it has some cracking pike. I fished it most of last winter for 2 months with very few fish. Also conditions were not great, very coloured water due to snow melt and it was atleast 2 foot in flood.

I armed up with the vodka and injected my bait and hoped for the best, a few hours passed and nothing showed, so it was a big fat blank, although it was nice to be on the bank again...

While i was waiting about i started making a nice additive up(all natural ingredients e.g no WD40 ), it really was stinking by the end, i have a video of it being dropped into the water which will copy further down the post, i reckon it will definitely have a positive effect when i try it!

I hate the stuff aswell it turns me! It obviously isnt a favourite of my pike either, will try gin next session

Lee, you really are never going to drop it , it should be my teacher getting it, not me! lol I must add some blended leaves to that concoction... Special herbal leaves (I'm joking BTW)

Completely thawed out at the moment, but still a chance of more snow. Have a day out with my mate arranged at a fishery, for after New Year, so really looking forward to that, but that also depends on the weather.

I'm in your neck of the woods 11th-13th February, no fishing though! Over to see a match with my BB. I'm just hoping it all goes ahead, but who knows what the weather will be like.

Lets hope you get to the fishery and i get to the match.

Yeh im going to the Rangers vs Motherwell game, i say i am a Rangers fan but i just am cause my friends are really, and i'm only going cause im getting 2 nights in hotel, match and transport for £60 pound, Bargain!

I'll do my best not to kick any, although there are enough about if i can remember from last year!
