Watch Out Pike Killers About

Fished Bristol Avon on saturday.
Beautiful stretch of river except some people had caused such a mess of the bank i could tel they had been fishing it for weeks and definately more than one person.That is fair enough but the amount of litter all empty plastic pike bait packets and even 3 cardboard boxes that the reels came in all strewn around the bank.
I was well wound up i knew it was at least 2 if not 3 people and kept looking back upstream guessing by the state of the bank that they most probably would turn up again.
Surprise surprise here comes three blokes, i could tel form 500yds away.
Down they come all with telescopic rods baited up ready to go.
"caught anyfin mate" one said with a foreighn twang.
Well you can imagine my reply was obviously no, is it any wonder cus you know as well as i do what they had been doing, i.e. catching and killing all the pike to eat.
I have been fishing a big hard lake for 150hrs for three fish since beginning of nov so the thought of what these idiots were doing ragged me right up.
within 25 mins i managed to get 2 bailifs there and my instincts were right.
3 polish blokes no licences of any description and they made them leave.
I usually ignore things but this i will not tolerate.
Fair play to the bailiffs, i dont usually like to bother people but they were more than happy to come out
So please everybody be aware of what some people are up to cus some will think its only pike but what if they are taking and killing barbel and other species. Dont let your local stretch of river go the same way.i wont be piking there again for a while.I checked the banks for longlines cus that wouldnt surprise me either.

Well done mate. It is down to all of us to act as bailiffs on our own waters. If you see something dodgy going on then report it.

Good Job Pollacks I hate poachers and scum like that should get harsher penalties than the little fines they get if caught and reported to the courts.

well done mate . thing is in the uk we give them a little slap on the wrist and they just turn up some where else .and do the same .you will never stop them . shame A !!!
