| last gasp blank saver had a days piking with mini me today, it was a chilly day with very little wind but the fish didnt want to know, as with last week predators were striking at fry all day with no interest in baits or lures, i had 2 twitchy little takes which resulted in lost fish each time,i was putting it down to jacks or even eels. we had enough by 2.30 and started packing up slowly,i had a little twitch on my middle rod and decided to leave it until last, i finally picked up the rod when all else was put away to find a pike on the end, it went about 8lb ish , a blank saver - yes  but that was not all,the fish had a couple of gash marks across its back that looks to have been made by a pike of mammoth proportions, what do you think ?  there was also marks on the side obviously from a pike, i am excited about this and feel that is proof that the type of pike i am persuing is in there     |

| Re: last gasp blank saver Nice fish there, i am always sceptical about marks like that, i always like to see the marks the whole way down the flanks of the fish aswell to really confirm that it is a pike attack. It would be a hard for a pike to make marks like that with out leaving marks on the flanks or underside surely? For your sake lets just hope its that pikes great granny that had a go at it!
