Re: searching for pike

Hi Alan, I have heard there are pike in Porth, but not fished there myself. Also ref Trenchford, and Tottiford by Bovey Tracey - I think you can only fish Trenchford for the pike, as Tottiford is fly fishing only for trout as far as I am aware. Retallick is bit weedy I have heard too, but once again never fished there. I have fished Trenchford, but no luck and a friend of mine fished there couple of times, no luck either.

Re: searching for pike

Hi Alan, I am in Plymouth too. Exeter canal is fishable now, with most of the weed disappearing. Retallick is down by Winnards Perch, in Cornwall. Its attached to an American Wild West Theme park or something like that believe it or not. If you look at google maps, Winnards Perch is on the A30 with the american theme park just east of there. The lake is by the park. Have heard there are numerous double figure pike in it, never fished it though. Last year was very hard fishing on the canal, not a lot caught over the winter, so hopefully this year will be better. Anyway the canal should be free of most weed by now I would have thought - the odd patch here and there. Good luck anyway (shame there arent any pike waters closer to Plymouth)
