New Pike Rod?

I currently only have one Pike rod and I'm looking a new one.

What's hot and what's not?

Please Note: There is no way in hell I'm paying 100 quid for a rod. The one I have doesn't even have a name on it and it's fine for all the fishing I do.

I'll be looking a Shimnao Baitrunner ST10000 to go along with it (to match my other one).

So..?

Re: New Pike Rod?

I know! I was reading about them earlier. Still too dear though. I'm looking something about 20/30 quid. I have spied a nice Shakepeare one for just over £30 incl. postage.

Would prefer 2 piece though and they're around the same price!

My mate uses the fox warriors. Superb Value for money and some great deals second hand on the bay.

Give Erics Angling in Leeds a go. He usually has some cracking discounts available.

i use shakespear odyssies, 12ft, 3lb test curve, they are a cracking allround pike rod for all conditions from close in work till whopping 3 to 4 oz leads out, they used to be 60/70 each about 2 yrs ago, they/re now going for 30/35 on certain sites and ebay, i rate these rods and have no complaints and for 60 quid ill be getting another set for reserves.

edit: just realized u'd already spied them

Re: New Pike Rod?

Cheers mate, these look good! Might just go for one ya know!

Do you use the 3 or 3 piece? Think I'd prefer a 2 in all honesty.

Whats the difference in 2 and 3?

Re: New Pike Rod?

i ordered the 2 piece rods when i got mine but received 2 3 pieces instead, i didnt mind, its just a wee bit more awkward breaking them down for packing in the 3 up 3 down hold all, defo a nice rod to hold and light as a feather.

Re: New Pike Rod?

I was window shopping there.

Found that shakespeare rod + shimano baitrunner reel for £91.68 incl postage.

I might just grab that :)
