| Re: bait If you want to save money and buy from the supermarkets dont overlook sprats and herrings as well! I used to buy from supermarkets and did well on all the baits, big mackeral produced the better fish. Sprats have accounted for alot of my fish as well Word of warning - sardines can be a swine to cast. They're soft skinned and are liable to come off the hooks during the cast. For close work an underhand cast is better. If you still struggle with them coming off, after hooking them tie bait floss round them or you can use pva string. Very small elastic bands work as well! |
