| Re: Pike - Chew Valley Lake Good days fishing albeit it tough going.....Bottle of red and some steak sarnies at lunchtime helped no end! Ledgered smelts out the back of the boat with an arsenal of plugs, jellies, spoons jerk baits etc chucked out the front. Had one of the smelts picked up in the first couple of hours resulting in a half sensible run which regretably didn't connect. Fishing the deeper water off of Woodford bank began to produce some action on a blue jerk bait fished tight to the bottom. The first fish in the boat was about 3.30pm and came in at a little over 6lb and made a decent account of itself. The old man had one of similar size about half hour later and I had a second fish just before close. An average days fishing beats a crap day at work hands down! The great news is Bristol Water have just released another 200 boats and extended their Pike season. A boat is £60 so not too bad value if there are two of you.....As always they are expected to sell out quickly and as I have just booked mine for 15th November happy to post the details!! http://www.bristolwater.co.uk/fishin...asp?newsID=701 It really is a cracking lake with a genuine opportunity of snagging a real monster. |

| Re: Pike - Chew Valley Lake Fished from the bank there last Thursday was a cold hard day but I had several good runs. I only connected with 2 of them but ended up with an 8 pounder and an 18 1/2 pounder on the bank so it was a good day in the end. Cant wait till 9th November when I have a boat day there. __________________ Pike Anglers Club of Great Britain, Region 13 Devon.
