ive heard that you can inject fish oils to give off smells ect in rubber or plastic bulldogs an for pike to home in on is this true

you can buy bottles of bait additive - i think the americans came up with this and you can even buy attractants to inject sea baits such as crab essence .
I think the lures in question normally have a foam section that will soak up the additive - i guess much like an ink cartridge
