Bury Hill Treble ban

I have read that bury Hill have banned trebles for predator fishing. Only a single barbless size 4 or less will be allowed.

I know some of you fish there, just wondered what the feelings were?

Re: Bury Hill Treble ban

read this as well
i only really fish there once or twice a year
guess as paul says its to help the zander and carp and tench in there if any traces snap off

know singles work well for the zander but mixed results when trying for pike on canal,( had 2 takes failed on both)

but will abide by it if go xmas time

Re: Bury Hill Treble ban

Lots of waters seem to be going towards the single hook nowadays ,
I think a lot of it has to do with the rise in anglers who are fishing for z,s and pike who have not much ,if any experience of fishing for them and are getting hooks that are deep throated

Re: Bury Hill Treble ban

I am not much of a predator angler (some would say I could have left the word predator off too, cheeky swines) and still don't know enough about this to really speak with any authority. I have managed to get a local pike nut to agree to take me with him so I can get the handling bit all right before I do a lot more pike fishing come the autumn. Having said all that I am not entirely won over by the single hook argument as I would have thought small trebles handled properly should cause no more issues. Therein maybe lies the answer though "handled properly".
