Sudbury, River Stour

Hi.
I am up Sudbury area in couple weeks visiting relatives. Didnt want to take all the carp gear with me (no room in car after missus and daughter fill it with their stuff) but local tackle shop I phoned in Sudbury reckons the Stour that runs by the town is ok for summer pike, perch, and chub, and he can give me a day ticket. So I am gonna fling a spinning and lure rod in the boot plus a couple of lures, landing net, landing mat, and hopefully I will get a chance to chuck a few lures or some luncheon meat/worms in the river. I also asked about the stretch that goes through Bures, but apparently that is "guest" ticket only, no day tickets. Anyone local to the area able to give me any advice regarding the predator fishing on the Stour at Sudbury?. Thanks.....
