Re: pike fishing

Hi mate

Might want t have a quick look HERE for some very basics

I find that when fishing for pike with lures or spinners that I tend to get the smaller ones and get better results from using deadbaits ( might be just me )

As for baited spinners for pike - You do not need to do this . Its all about getting your lure to work at the right speed / action and depth that the pike are at

One thing I like to remember is that Pike hold up were they can get food freely so as the saying goes " you got to think like a fish to catch a fish "

Look for under cuts / reed beds / over hanging trees and deeper water as shallow 3 foot depths will not produce fish as much in the winter months

Just some quick thoughts

Re: pike fishing

Yes as pike have very sharp teeth and will go through mono / Braid

They are cheap and it much safer than some poor pike dieing because of a plug got stuck in its mouth

Oh if you new ish to pike fishing make sure you have some pliers to get the trebles unhooked as you do not want to put your hands in

Look forward to your posts on when you get some Pike

Re: pike fishing

IF YOU'RE NEW THEN YOU WANT TO REMEMBER THREE THINGS - SAFTEY, SAFETY AND SAFETY ! (THE FISHES SAFETY!! ) use wire traces ,which you can buy if you dont know how to make your own, a good pair of long nosed pliars or forceps and a pair of wire/hook cutters. Also i think its worth mentioning that using safety rigs and weak lead links is also a must but above all remember and have some fun eh !!
