i caught an eel spinng ?<luring>

i didnt know eels would eat fish like a 10 inch pike , as thats what i was using as abait for pike its self , the damage done to me net when eel came in was bad , so i dont want another eel. the reason im askin as the book i read says its fish spawn or did it mean fish an spawn im confused but hey my 2nd fish lure was @ laeast 8 inches long 1to2 in width

Your net as well as your trace will get covered in slime from an eel and its a right pain ! ( its a coating used to protect the eel as they can travel across land and live out of water for a while )
Best best in future if you have an eel is not to use a landing net - if you're really lucky it will just fall off
Would loved to have seen it eating a jackpike though

And lie it on it's back. I know it sounds soft and I thought it was utter cr@p till I tried it on hols on the Isle of Wight and beggar me sideways if it did n't work. Don't net eels, they slime everything but PLEASE treat them with respect . Much as I hate catching snooty eels they are becoming somewhat rare and they are amazing creatures whatever I think of the slimey bu@@ers.
