What gloves are best to use for pike

What kind of gloves are best to use for removing hooks from pike (i don't fancy loosing the end of my fingers). Will thick gardening gloves do? Thanks

You don't need gloves mate, a pair of long forceps and a bit of knowledge is all that is required, if you are putting your fingers in the Pike mouth you dont have the right equipment or you are not unhooking the Pike correctly

I am sure there is a thread on how to unhook Pike on this forum, there are also some vids youtube

i agree with darrell , a good pair of long forceps are all i use,there is no need to put your hand in the pikes mouth

Well - I do go into town to strut my stuff, but not in chainmail.

No point hurting yourself while learning ,so I would get a glove even a gardening glove if you are unsure
