| Re: dead bait rig for pike? A free running rig with 1-2oz bomb, and snap tackle with 2 trebles, semi barbless, size 8 or 6. Caught all my pike on that up to 18lb. ![]() __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º> |

| Re: dead bait rig for pike? snap tackle is a piece of wire with the swivel and the 2 hooks on yes. The free running rig is where I put on a weight, but don't attatch it with shot or anything, so when a pike takes the rig, the weight will stay on the bottom and it won't feel too much resistance, not sure if it's called a free running rig, but that's what I do. That's why you need a heavy weight, sometimes up to 3 oz, so it will hold on the bottom while the line goes through the eye of it. __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º> |
