Re: loch ken pike fishing info

Hi i used to fish loch ken years ago we used to go up there from york for a week to ten days at a time get bivvid up great times we used to go out near parton there was a little boat yard just between a row of cottages you could hire a boat from there as well but i had my own anyway we used to set off and go straight across into the bay get set up i would have two rods into the loch and two into the bay this was at easter time the big females used to come into the bay to spawn in the loch side there is a flooded water fall and i used to cast 1/2 makkie baits to the bottom of this you could have a long wait at times but boy it was worth wile my best fish from there was 27lbs we also used to fish near the water sports center just carnt think of the lads name its a few years ago now just before the lockerbie air crash we then started fishing loch AWE thats a great water for pike and ferox trout im just going to find my pictures of ken tightlines Alain

H Ian Take a gallon of red maggots with you theses are the biss for the roach use a big feeder and keep feed going in all the time once you have them feeding you will bag up ive had 80lbs plus bags have you got a boat with a sounder on you will need one to find the old water fall also up the loch there is a old railway bridge you can bank fish near the bridge but boat fishing to find the dropoffs and feetures is best good luck and tightlines Alain
