my lads first pike

Well after the Zander meet I thought I would try again but this time take my lad Ben. We didn't get there till 10ish so missed out on the early morning fish Ben was fishing with a rubber perch walking up and down the bank casting in all fishy looking spots. I set up opposite the cement works and float fished a roach on one rod and bottom fished a sand eel on the other rod. Nothing happened for a while till 2.45 (I think Rich said last week they come on to feed at 3ish) I had a few nocks and ended up landing a pike that was also caught by Rich the other week

14lb I think it went still had the damage on its back that didn't look any differant.
Nothing then happened till we started packing up at 4ish when I was putting kit away Ben said the float had gone down Ben struck and landed a 5lb jack pike his first pike


He also let me know everytime he's been fishing he has never blankedI might not take him again if he's going to rub that in A great day had and met some friendly people throughout the day got some good tips on a few places to fish for bigger pike and ZANDER so will let you all know on that score.
