| Or getting the mojo back part 2 ![]() Decided this afternoon to take a look at the Turfs end of the canal as a bit of a rekkie as to wethere ankles up to a full assault down there soon The track to the car park is very soft and rutted ( although the council are working on it) but if you have a posh car or one you are worried about maybe not the best area to go at the moment, ( luckily i just have a tatty and dirty brown vectra so away i went )walked to the lock in 8 mins so was chuffed then walked up to the canal side and the northerly wind was howling down the canal, but it was lovelyview back up the canal and basin ![]() ![]() view out over the exe from the pub ![]() this is a lovely pub to while away an afternoon in the summer )anyways i digress as ever the wind as i say was really strong and the small rapala i had just couldnt go against it so i whacked on a small leadhaded shad with pink tail, to get any distance and also to sink lower ![]() after a while and 1/2 way back along basin BINGO my first pike of the year , ok a jack of 2-3 lb but on the light gear it was great, ( even tail walked for me )![]() and then later on ( about 1/2 way back to the carpark ) another one , a tad smaller this time but really fiesty ![]() by the time i got back to the car my fingers were numb, and was going blind as the wind was makeing eyes water so much, car showed 2*c but there was a serious wind chill factor but drove home with a serious smile on face as a pretty brace of pike and chuffed that could do the walk down so well...big bunch of flowers for mrs P for last weekends and this pass and roll on next week ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives Last edited by pingu; 02-11-2010 at 05:54 PM. |
