Fishing River Exe for pike

Have been to Exeter canal, will hopefully try the Culm soon, (not enough time off work to fit in all this fishin!), and was advised there are also pike in the River Exe, so will perhaps give that a go in next couple of months. If anyone has fished the Exe for pike, is there any particular areas worth trying - I dont expect anyone to give away their secret hotspots etc, but just general areas..i.e. I was told to try along Killerton, and Beare Gate area on the Culm as they sometimes produce, so just wondered if any areas on Exe worth a bash. If nobody can help, I will try the local tackle shops when next passin through that way.
