| 1st outing on the fen drains this year. well the fen drains are free of ice. temps have gone up and I have some days off.just sorted out my pikeing gear flask is ready.bait is in the freezer.so its up early and off to one of the fen drains .I have herd from some of the lads down the local that there is some good pike coming out of one of the drains near me.I have looked at the conditions for tomorrow and it looks good.so I will let you know how I get on.      |

| Re: 1st outing on the fen drains this year. well it was good to be back out on the fens.not much to report.the 20ft was going like a train had a few hours there but no luck.moved on to more carmer waters near whittlesey there were a few match fishermen baging up on roach there was the odd movement in the water from the pike but again no luck .so I moved onto french drove last chance of the day put my dead bait out had one run on roach dead bait but the pike dropped it .so got my lure rod out and hey 3rd cast 6lb pike hip hip no blank lol.ok not big but she/he was lovely and very welcome.and I also lost 2 on the lure rod .was hard work getting that one fish but good fun and like I said .good to be back out on the fens .cant wait to go again . |
