| Not written on here for a long time but thought id get back to it. Went to the River Culm today, gotta be my favourite place to fish!! Was just me and a friend all day, bloody cold though! Started out bout 9 in the morning and after travelling and setting up and what not we were started by ten. The groung was all frozen so the first bend we came to we dropped in our deadbaits and waited . After thirty minutes of no activity we upped sticks and moved to a little hotspot that has never failed to produce. Within five minutes i was into a jack of about 4 pounds, not massive but with the weather being so cold it didnt half warm me up. ![]() [/IMG]Then we moved along to another swim, my mate put a deadbait right on a bend while i went in close by a bush, just having a cuppa when the float started to bob, then shoot away under the tree,, it was only a small jak of about three pounds and in a freezing river but it put up a gallant fight considering, [/IMG]There was no more action after thet but i was more than happy having a bit of action in such cold conditions, which is more than can be said for my mate, im sworn to secrecy Will! Now i cant wait to get back to my little bit of river heaven and land a monster!!! Ihave got some pics of the day but am unable to post, unless sometime can kindly suggest how i do it. ![]() Last edited by Sir Blanks-alot; 12-22-2009 at 04:26 PM. Reason: added pictures |

| Re: River Culm Pike Nice report and pics. Am planning to fish the Culm some time after New Year, as I have never fished it before. In fact the last time I fished a river was the local trout stream in my village about 40 years ago, so I am looking forward to it. Bit of a drive from Plymouth but sounds like a nice place to fish, and will hopefully get some pike |
