| Another trip to Chew The hunt for the elusive thirty continued today with another trip to Chew Valley. Yet again failed with the early start as the weather was really off putting with wind and heavy rain. But set off at 7:30 got there just after 8 and you guessed it still raining at least the water level was up. Got set up with 2 rods one on makkie the other sardine fished at about 100meters range. The first hour was quiet with the sardine picked up and dropped, at least the rain had stopped and the skys started to clear. A fellow angler to my left hooked into a good fish which went 26lb 2, then it was my turn as i walked back to my rods the alarm sounded and the baitrunner was away struck into a good solid fish after a spirited fight nice double was in the net which pulled the scale round to 17lbs. As we were weighing this fish my other rod was away struck into a fish but then it all went solid it had found snag which i eventually pulled in to find my makkie bitten in half. The weather really picked up and even the sun put in an appearance Had a few more dropped runs and another headless bait probably big old trout. Finally had a decent run which resulted in a small pike about 8lb to finish the day. The guy next to me also had fish of 18lb12 and 11lb. Oh well the search continues .............................      |

and yes it is a trout fishery the boats going well alex........not sunk it yet lol have used it in some windy weather gets a bit rough across chew but seems to get through it well, without taking on water well sealed |

| Re: Another trip to Chew yes I'm using a bait boat Thought so , thought 100mtrs was a good chuck with a dead bait on unless you were drifting the bait out ..Keep at it and iam sure that 30lb will come |

| Re: Another trip to Chew Well done for being out in todays weather. I was working on one glasshouse, till I ot wise after 30 mins and found something to do in front of a heater. |
