| Pike rod choice Alright guys! I'm currently using a £25 carp rod (2.75 TC) And a good quality 2.75 TC pike rod, but having caught a decent sized fish last week, it really showed up the inadeqacies of the cheap carp rod, it's very heavy and the action is poor. What I'm after is any recommendations on a decent quality (up to £90) pike rod. I reckon 3 or 3.25 TC to give me a longer range/bigger bait option. What do you recommend? Thanks for taking the time to answer. Chappa |

| Re: Pike rod choice For me it really depends on where you are fishing and the style you want to fish. If your on a lake and you are chucking dead baits 70-100 yards then I would use 3.5lb test cure with a through action. If you are on a canal that is 30 yards wide you can get away with 10ft 6inch boat rods. I use my boats rods for deadbait fishing and my 2 3/4lb carp rods for roving and paternostered live baits. Hope that helps. There are plenty second hand at the moment |
