Re: Forrestburn reservoir

I've only fished it once so far & I drew a blank

Everyone I've met says it's full of big pike and some very big perch but I haven't seen them yet.

Re: Forrestburn reservoir

I usually fish the Voe in Shotts and have been up to the Black Loch a couple of times. I'm going to try Roughrigg soon and fancy going through to the Union canal for a session in the near future too.

Where else do you fish mate?

Re: Forrestburn reservoir

ive been to the voe once caught a couple of perch but no pike,a few of my mates from shotts fish it regular and they've had pike up to 12lbs.ive heard good storys about pike fishing at roughrigg and the black loch and also forrestfield-hillend.
i havent fished much for pike this year bought myself a fly rod and have been sticken at that but think ill go soon,i normaly fish ponds and forrestburn have to get over to the voe soon.
Have you fished the union canal and have you heard much about it?
and could you tell me where it starts and ends.?

Re: Forrestburn reservoir

I used to fish the Union as a boy, that was a while ago now tho! Caught pike, perch & roach regularly but don't know how good it is these days.

It starts in edinburgh and now ends at the falkirk wheel, where technically it joins the forth & clyde.

I'm planning on going up to Forrestburn on Sunday, maybe see you up there?
