| nice way to break your duck after a slow start to the pike season ie 2 blanks i set off this morning for one of my club waters to be greeted by a nice moonlit lake ,bit of a change from yesterdays hooligan, i chose a swim where there seemed to be a few silver fish moving   all was quiet apart from a screamer that turned out to be a cormorant that had picked up the bait  at 0900 i had a stuttering take which i quickly leaned into,it kited back and forth and then decided the tree roots in the margins were very attractive,a few dodgy moments ensued before i slid the net under a rather large fish,  it banged the scales down at a very satisfying 23lb 6oz  i fished on and even moved early afternoon to find another one but no more bites were forthcoming,still,not a bad day eh ?     |
