| as posted decided to try for a halloween croc as usual the weathermen from only 2 mile away from this canal got it wrong, and it ended up being a glorious day started a tad later than expected ( Mrs P has bird flu, far wore than man flu )set up by 8.30 near the meat destruction factory near marsh barton ( god it stinks but beautifull sight in morning light ![]() steve will appreciate this ... " The mist crawls from the canal Like some primordial phantom of romance To curl, under a cascade of neon pollen" marillion misplaced childhood all was quiet really but i could see either a big perch or jack was terroriseing some baitfish under the tree opposite so i put smallest bait i had ( small section of lamprey) high under a float with size 10 trebbles and bingo ![]() a very feisty 5lber i was chuffed but struggled with unhooking as leg wont bend properly still sorry horrible bloody photo as it wrapped itself up in line/trace and net after landing ( it should have been a gymnast )which took ages to sort but he swam off strongall went far too quiet after and loads of canoeists so i moved up to lime kilns where the water was like mirrored glass ![]() not unsurpriseingly with these conditions it stayed far too quiet but what a lovely day to be out ![]() as i was leaving the guy in the centre had 2 good bream in, i wish i could have stayed till dusk , but kids taxing services were needed a lovely autumn day, lovely weather and a pike to open the account spot on ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives |
