advice on loch oich

i am going to loch oich nr invergarry on the 17th and was wondering if anybody had fished for pike there recently and what methods were best at this time of year cheers.

alrite mate am heading up that way at the end of the month never fished it before thinking of fishing loch loyne but if the oich produces the goods for you we may just change our mind lol

have fished loch loyne with mixed results but the river garry above tomdoun hotel produced alot of good pike for me when i worked at glen quoich as a stalker , biggest was 21 1/2 lb , they didnt like the spinner or plug , always took the mackerel , the fishing is free for pike , try kingie pool if you ever end up there abouts ,

cheers mate can you just pull up and fish or do you need to buy a meal like you have to for loch loyne

you can just pull up , ask at tomdoun hotel for directions to kingie pool, btw just back from loch oich, hard fishing had 1 pike at the last min near the 7 heads store on bluey head fished close in and hard on the bottom ,bout half 3 in the afternoon , bowt 12 lbs not bad but i must have been doin sumfin wrong , had no runs from sat morning till that 1 fish in the sunday afternoon , was fishing three rods at different distances , 1 bait popped up off the bottom , one hard on the bottom and 1 on the float . just shows you that they are not always gonna play ball !!!

thats always the case if you caught everytime you went you would get bored lol might still give it a go am just back from the venechar was there all day sat and sun and never even got a run 3 rods 3 different baits and still nothing thats why its called fishing and not catching eh

you ever tried the fly on venechar ? good if the conditions are ok an you can get a boat, btw dont be put off by the weed in the loch oich , every cast you wind in clumps of weed and you think how the hell is a fish goin to find ma bait in all that muck but they do ! the weed is out even to a good distance so you just have to persevere , no snags tho , didnt lose 1 trace.

havent tried it for pike but have for the trout with mixed results the weeds cant be any worse than the canal down my way lol where do you usually fish
