Re: West Lothian / Central Scotland Fishing group

Hi Guys
You can count me and my cousin in.

Problem is he is away for 2 weeks now and I'll be away the sunday you mention and won't be back for 3 weeks...going to Florida and i have the tackle ready to go Big Bass fishing

I'll keep an eye on this thread though.

I have a nice new Float tube and all the gear I'm gagging to try out on your secret water Ross. Should be interesting pike fishing if i can use it.

John

hey Gizzer, you can use float tubes mate, its a wild water so....lucky you budd, i'd love a go at them big mouth bass, i go down to torness power station just outside dunbar (my folks have a caravan on thurston manor) and do a bit of bass fishing, some mullet there too but never tried for them, good luck with the big mothers and hope to see you soon mate, float tube and all!!!

Anyone is welcome to try the float tube, not had it's maiden voyage yet but I tried the tubing up in Aberdeen last month and loved it, you guys will too.

I'm hoping to try for Bass up at torness soon, never tried that yet so heres hoping we do ok.

Re: West Lothian / Central Scotland Fishing group

get to torness early (trust me, this is important!!!), dont try your float tube (trust me, this is even more important lol).
stand right on the front of the powerstation water outlet (its like a huge slipway, with a big river running down it!) you can feel the heat come off it (its the water used to cool the reactor, see, thats what brings the fish in, the constant warmer water)
use a weighted float with about 8ft leeder with either rubber sand eels, or even better, live sand eels!
be VERRY carefull, dont fall between the big breaker rocks!
stand right at the front and cast accross the outlet so the water pulls your float out a bit and just let it drift for a bit, if you get no joy within 5mins do the same again!

i'v tried the float tube a few times and loved it, onle ever done it fly fishing for trout tho, dont think id be too pleased to hook into a 20lb plus pike in one!!! should be ok durring summer tho, not much chance of hitting the big hens!

best of luck
